Our roots lie in the realm of digital art, where we’ve explored the evolution of technology and three-dimensional spaces. Our practice has grown in step with the expanding possibilities of these digital environments. UNBUILT was founded by artist Manuel Rossner, who began creating digital exhibition spaces in 2012, driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of video games since his teenage years.
Since his first institutional exhibition at NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, Manuel has collaborated on numerous projects centered around the potential of digital space. This includes brand partnerships with Highsnobiety and Global Fashion Agenda, as well as internationally recognized exhibitions at venues like the Grand Palais in Paris and the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
In 2022, Rossner launched New Float, a digital space geo-located next to Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie. This project utilizes the construction site of the Museum of the 20th Century in Berlin to showcase digital art through NFTs and rotating solo exhibitions. Inspired by the limitless possibilities and interactive features of emerging platforms like Spatial.io, we established UNBUILT—a service dedicated to providing companies and institutions with enduring digital outposts.
